17 people suspected of poisoning after eating roasted pork sandwiches in Ho Chi Minh City

As of this afternoon, the Department of Health recorded 17 cases of examination and treatment at hospitals including 12 cases at Military Hospital 175, 4 cases at Gia Dinh People’s Hospital, 1 case at Thu Duc Regional General Hospital

Of the total of 11 cases at Military Hospital 175, 6 had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment, while the remaining 5 had milder symptoms and were prescribed outpatient medication and further monitoring at home. By the morning of March 1, the health of the majority of patients had stabilized, with only 2 people remaining in the hospital for monitoring and treatment.

On March 1, the Department of Medical Operations, Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City said it had directed hospitals to review the treatment of patients with epidemiological factors related to the above bakery. Medical facilities ensure proper collection, classification and treatment of food poisoning treatment regimens, quickly reporting severe cases, microbiological results and complications if any to promptly coordinate and unify the regimen.

In early November, more than 300 people in Ho Chi Minh City were poisoned after eating bread bought at Co Bich stores, the cause was determined to be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

A few days ago, more than 70 people were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning after eating bread at Hong Ngoc 12 facility in Dong Thap. In mid-December, more than 200 people in Quang Ngai were also poisoned after eating bread sold at a local chain store, due to patties and vegetables contaminated with the same agent.
