Iran asks the UN for help to stop the war with Israel and the United States

The war conflict in the Middle East continues to escalate. Faced with this scenario, which has already caused hundreds of deaths and injuries, Iran launched a request for help to the UN and asked for his intervention to stop the war immediately.

This Tuesday it was the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, who addressed the United Nations Security Council. “They have a duty (…) If they wish, they can act, because there is no obstacle to action other than their own will.”says the spokesperson in the statement.

It was on Saturday when, among many others, the death of the Iranian supreme leader occurred. Ali Khamenei after the bombings unleashed by the United States and Israel. Since then, the attacks continued and advanced through the Persian Gulf region.

While waiting for a response from the UN, Iran has responded by attacking North American bases in the Gulf and launching missiles and drones against Israel.

War between the United States, Israel and Iran: the UN demands an investigation into the attack on an Iranian primary school

The increase in violence has the world in suspense. Over the past few days, the numbers have risen to more than 700 deaths. In this context, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, demanded a “prompt, impartial and exhaustive” investigation into the attack on the Minab schoolwhere about 180 people died. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, the victims were mostly girls. The institution was hit in the middle of the school day.

It was the United Nations itself that shared a message calling for safety in schools. “A school is not an objective”says the plaque made by UNICEF, which adds to the call for an immediate cessation of violence.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, released an image of hundreds of mass graves being dug for victims who died in the attack. “Their bodies were destroyed. This is what Mr. Trump’s promised ‘rescue’ really looks like. From Gaza to Minab, innocents murdered in cold blood,” the tweet closes.

In turn, Ravina Shamdasani, the spokesperson for Türk’s office, indicated that also They are concerned about the well-being of the Iranian population “due to the government’s record to repress with lethal force and on a large scale those who oppose his authority.

Furthermore, the human rights representative denounced the massive internet outages imposed by the Persian regime, pointing out that these seriously restrict access to information in a context that requires being permanently informed and in which events change in a matter of seconds. This situation leaves the population in a state of special vulnerability and lack of protection.

Ante the expansion of the attacks, which already affect 12 countriesShamdasani assured that “the high commissioner urges all parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid further escalation and adopt all possible measures to protect the civilian population.”

“Returning to dialogue, negotiation and diplomacy would be the only way to put an end to the deaths, destruction and despair,” the spokesperson stressed. However, and without any intention of giving in, it was Donald Trump who in the last hours boasted of having a almost unlimited supply of weapons to confront the conflict.
