The ex-head of the Association of Industrialists of Israel received a year in prison

Supreme Court Judge Alex Stein rejected an appeal filed by the former head of the Israeli Industrialists Association, Shraga Brosh.

In his decision, Stein stated that “permission to appeal on the issue of punishment is granted only in exceptional and rare cases where there is a fundamental deviation from the accepted punitive policy in similar cases.”

Let us recall that in July 2023, Tel Aviv Magistrate Court Judge Dana Amir found Brosh guilty of fraud and tax evasion in the amount of 1.55 million shekels. In March 2024, he was sentenced to 14 months in prison and a fine of 100,000 shekels.

Brosh and prosecutors appealed the verdict to the Tel Aviv District Court. In January 2026, judges Shai Yaniv, Gershon Gutovnik and Yossi Tof partially granted Brosh’s appeal, reducing the prison term from 14 to 12 months.

Brosh tried to challenge this decision in the Supreme Court, but now, after Stein’s decision, he will be forced to begin serving a prison sentence from April 2026.
