Apple launches MacBook Neo, its cheapest laptop ever

Under the body it is not a traditional M series processor, but the A18 Pro chip. This architectural choice guarantees high performance and energy efficiency that completely eliminates the need for internal fans. Memory is 8GB for all models, and SSD storage starts at 256GB. According to data provided by the manufacturer, the laptop is up to 50% faster than Windows systems equipped with Intel Core Ultra 5 processors in web browsing operations, outperforming the competition three times in workloads related to on-device artificial intelligence thanks to the 16-core Neural Engine. This power supports a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408×1506 pixels, capable of reaching 500 nits of brightness.

The user experience is completed by the well-known Magic Keyboard (not backlit in this model) and a large Multi-Touch trackpad, while the audio-video sector relies on a 1080p FaceTime camera and a lateral diffusion speaker system with support for spatial audio. The declared autonomy reaches 16 hours on a single charge, allowing you to cover an entire day of work or study without the need for external power. On the connectivity front, the device integrates two USB-C ports that can also be used for charging, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.

The macOS Tahoe operating system manages Apple Intelligence features, such as typing tools and automatic image cleanup, while maintaining tight integration with the iPhone ecosystem through Continuity and Handoff features. Great attention has also been paid to sustainability: MacBook Neo is the model with the lowest environmental impact in the range, being made with 60% recycled materials and produced using energy from renewable sources. The new MacBook Neo can be pre-ordered from today and will be available on the market starting from Wednesday 11 March.
