The European Commission believes that the harsh expressions and threats of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán are unacceptable.
“There should be no threats against the member states”, stated the official representative of the European Commission, Olof Gill, at the briefing held in Brussels today.
Gill said that the European Commission is conducting active discussions, the aim of which is to achieve that the parties calm down, soften their rhetoric, and it is possible to achieve the goals. They are providing a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine and ensuring the security of energy supply of EU member states.
Zelensky, without giving a name, but hinting at Orbán, threatened that the latter will have to deal with the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces if he does not open the loan of 90 billion euros to be provided to Ukraine.
The leadership of Hungary, in turn, accuses Kiev of deliberately blocking the work of the “Druzhba” oil pipeline and declares that it is ready to resolve the issue of oil supply by force.
Orban also wrote on the X social network that Budapest is not going to make “neither deals nor compromises” in this matter.
