The US may continue to ease restrictions on Russian oil, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said on Fox Business.
The official made this statement against the backdrop of disruptions in oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz due to military operations by Israel and the United States against Iran. 20 percent of the world’s oil goes through this route. Besant noted that the USA is already solving this issue.
Yesterday, the US Treasury Department gave Indian oil refineries a 30-day permission to buy Russian oil already in the sea. Besant believes that this measure will soften Iran’s pressure on the global fuel market.
The Kremlin has announced that it has noticed a significant increase in the demand for Russian oil against the background of the conflict in the Middle East.
