Macron calls for another meeting of the Defense Council this afternoon given the advance of the offensive in Iran

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called another meeting of the Defense Council for this Tuesday afternoon to address the latest events within the framework of the offensive launched on February 28 by the United States and Israel against Iran, which has already left more than 1,200 dead.

This has been confirmed by the Elysée, which has clarified that the meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. (local time) and will also allow the situation in other parts of the Middle East to be addressed, according to information collected by the newspaper ‘Le Figaro’.

This meeting – which has been preceded by similar ones last week – takes place eleven days after the start of the offensive against Iran. Among those killed by the attacks are the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several ministers and senior officials of the Iranian Army, which has responded by launching missiles and drones against Israel and US bases in Middle Eastern countries.

This same Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stressed that the overthrow of the Iranian authorities “depends on the Iranian people” and has reiterated that the ongoing offensive brings closer the possibility of “a change” in the leadership of power in the Asian country.
