Christian Lawyers has submitted a formal request to the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain to open a sanctioning procedure against the actress Silvia Abril, the content creator Marina Rivers and the presenter Inés Hernand for the statements and comments made during the 2026 Goya Awards that they consider “mockery of faith.”
According to the organization of jurists, his interventions at the Spanish film gala “violate the principles of equality, respect, pluralism and protection of human rights included in the Academy’s Code of Ethics and Conduct” by entailing “a public attack against the Christian faith and directed in a derogatory manner against the beliefs of millions of citizens.”

The president of Christian Lawyers, Poland Castellanos, has declared that it is “intolerable that the Goya Awards have become a political loudspeaker from which the faith of millions of Christians is ridiculed.” “A gala that should talk about cinema cannot be used to attack those who do not follow the ideology of this Government,” he stressed.
