PAN reiterates call to remove taxes on fuel

The opposition in the Senate asked the federal government to take measures to prevent the armed conflict in the Middle East from having repercussions on the national economy, including an eventual increase in the price of gasoline.

Ricardo Anaya, coordinator of the PAN, called for the approval of the initiative presented by this political force to eliminate the special tax applied to fuels, so that for no reason they are above 20 pesos. “It would be unacceptable for the government to increase the price of gasoline, this is not the time, it would severely affect the economy of Mexican families.”

Manuel Añorve, coordinator of the PRI, estimated that the liter of gasoline should decrease because it is a “very inflationary” product and hits the pockets of Mexicans.

Clemente Castañeda, coordinator of MC, maintained that the war in the Middle East is affecting everything that has to do with the Mexican economy.

He considered that the federal government should take into account a series of emerging measures to deal with this, which “at some point was thought to be temporary in nature.”
