InnovaFest promoted financing of 400 million dollars for projects

The Ministry of Economy presented InnovaFest 2026 in its Monterrey edition, a strategy that seeks to bring together entrepreneurs, researchers, companies and investors to promote projects with economic, social and environmental impact.

During the announcement, the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, highlighted that these initiatives have already begun to generate results in terms of financing. He noted that, based on the projects presented in the previous edition, the private sector made investments close to 400 million dollars, mainly through funds from the United States.

According to Ebrard, more than 3,700 people linked to research and development centers currently participate, as well as more than 80 investment funds, which allows ideas to be linked with capital and makes it easier for innovative projects to translate into opportunities in the market.

The person in charge of InnovaFest, Cecilia Bañuelos Barrón, explained that the meeting seeks to identify those who require support to develop ideas and those who are willing to contribute resources, time or experience. For this purpose, the innovafest.mx platform was enabled, where interested parties can register and become part of the national innovation ecosystem.

The model includes the issuance of the National Innovation Award 2026, as well as exhibitions of technological developments from universities, research centers, companies, ventures and civil organizations. It also includes spaces called Minds in Action, designed to link entrepreneurs with investors.

The Monterrey edition will take place on May 29 and will be the first of five venues scheduled for this year. The call will remain open until May 11. Later meetings will be held in Querétaro, on August 21; Guadalajara, on September 25; Mérida, on November 6, and Morelos, on December 11, where the national awards will be held.
