Vietnamese people can ‘ship’ to 220 countries

Cooperation between Vietnam Post and DHL Express helps Vietnamese goods reach 220 countries and territories around the world.

On the morning of March 11, Vietnam Post and DHL signed a contract extension to strengthen cooperation in the field of international delivery, contributing to promoting logistics connections and cross-border trade. The relationship between the two businesses began in 1988, when DHL Express (Germany) became the first international express delivery unit operating in Vietnam. Since then, the two sides have maintained a joint venture to combine the domestic postal network with the global logistics system, through the VNQuick Post express delivery service.

At the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh said that this is “a symbol of successful cooperation between two businesses and two countries”.

According to him, Vietnam Post plays an important role in Vietnam’s national postal system, while DHL Express is a courier group with global coverage. This combination will connect Vietnamese people and businesses with international markets.

The Deputy Minister expects that the Vietnam Post – DHL Express joint venture will not only provide simple services, but must take the lead in developing and applying new and modern technologies in the field of postal and logistics, becoming a “bright spot” with many new services, occupying a large market share in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post, said cross-border e-commerce “is growing rapidly”. Meanwhile, Mr. John Pearson, General Director of DHL Express, commented that Vietnam is one of the markets with strong trade growth in the region. This context further highlights the strategic significance of the cooperative relationship, bringing Vietnamese goods and services closer to the international market.

In the coming time, the two sides said they will develop high-end international delivery services, enhance the exchange of experience in management, human resource training and technology application in logistics operations.

Previously, at the 2025 Summary Conference and implementation of Vietnam Post’s 2026 plan, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung determined a new vision for Vietnam Post in the next 5-10 years. He commented that when the economy transitions to a digital economy, postal service is not a service, but must be considered a pillar of national development infrastructure, a “physical highway” and a “logistics highway”.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Science and Technology, in 2025, postal sector revenue will reach 87,000 billion VND, with an output of 4.2 billion postal items. Vietnam has an Integrated Postal Development Index (2IPD) in group 8/10 according to the ranking of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
