Iran warns the United States and Israel: they will not be able to lower the price of oil; wait for the barrel at 200 dollars

“They must know that they will not be able to lower the price of oil and energy through artificial measures. With the expansion of the war in the region, we already warned that they can expect a barrel of oil worth 200 dollars, because the price of oil depends on security in the region, and you are the source of that insecurity,” stated the spokesman for the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbia, Ebrahim Zolfagari, in a video published by the Tasnim agency.

The spokesman for that barracks, which coordinates the regular Army with the Revolutionary Guard, added that Iran will not allow “not one liter of oil” to pass through the Strait of Hormuz for the benefit of the United States, Israel or its partners.

The members of the G7 agreed on Tuesday that the International Energy Agency (IEA) must adopt “proactive measures” to address the situation in the energy market, where oil and gas prices have skyrocketed, “including the use of resources from strategic reserves.”

IEA rules establish that all its members must have reserves equivalent to at least 90 days of imports to deal with exceptional situations, particularly when there is a supply interruption. If not, the agency’s strategic oil reserves could be used to deal with crisis situations.

The price of oil, after the notable falls on Tuesday, in which the price of a barrel fell below $90, rose again this Wednesday at the opening, with an increase of 2.33%, although it continues below that level, at $89.79.

The situation in the strait – a strategic energy enclave, through which approximately 20% of the world’s oil and a large part of strategic minerals pass – has altered the international oil market after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard threatened to attack any ship that crossed it.

This Wednesday, at least three oil tankers were hit in the strait, one Greek and two others owned by Israel and flying the Liberian flag, according to the Revolutionary Guard, which assured that these ships ignored the warnings of the naval force.

The United States Central Command (Centcom) claimed on Tuesday night to have destroyed “multiple Iranian warships” near the Strait of Hormuz, including 16 minelayer boats, as part of the attacks against the Persian country, which they accuse of having threatened “freedom of navigation.”
