The Landerneau of the thriller goes to All the Misfortune in the World, an “agonizing and jubilant” anticipation story

A detective novel featuring drone attacks carried out by Americans and Russians on Paris, All the misfortune in the world (Gallimard) by Thomas Bronnec, won the Landerneau Polar prize on Wednesday.

This novel, which comes out Thursday and whose cover shows drones flying around the great iron lady, is a story of anticipation in which France is targeted by attacks carried out by Americans and Russians, two countries led by autocrats hostile to Europe. The French president is trying to organize European resistance.

Distressing dive

The president of the jury, the journalist and host of TF1 Bruce Toussaint, welcomed “a fantastic story anchored in a reality that seems so close to us. A distressing and exhilarating dive into a French and global crisis, with characters larger than life”.

The author, Thomas Bronnec, is a journalist and author of television documentaries. He has already published several detective novels, including In conquered country, The Pack or Coliseum.

Created in 2012, the Landerneau crime fiction prize from the E. Leclerc Cultural Spaces is endowed with 6,000 euros and a promotional campaign in the 233 bookstores of this brand. In 2025, he distinguished the writer Benjamin Dierstein for Blue, White, Red (Flammarion).
