Trump proposes international naval mission to reopen Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump has proposed an international naval mission to keep the strategic Strait of Hormuz, an artery of international oil trade currently under blockade by the Iranian Army, and that it remains “open and secure.”

The president has expressed his desire that “countries affected” by the closure of the strait join this mission. The president, who has not given any deadlines on this matter, has specifically mentioned his “hope” that countries such as “China, France, Japan, South Korea or the United Kingdom” will accompany the American ships to reopen the strait.

In his message published on his Truth Social platform, Trump assures that “100% of the (Iranian) military capacity is destroyed” by the joint attacks that the US and Israel have been carrying out for two weeks just before acknowledging that it is “easy for Tehran to send a couple of drones, place mines or launch missiles along the strait, no matter how defeated they are.”

“Hopefully, China, France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and other countries affected by this artificial restriction will send ships to the area so that the Strait of Hormuz is no longer a threat from a nation that has been completely decapitated,” the president said.

“Meanwhile, the United States will mercilessly bomb the coast and continue sinking Iranian ships. One way or another, we will soon make the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and free,” he concluded.
