Iran launched its “Sejil” ballistic missile against Israel for the first time and threatened Netanyahu with death: “We will pursue it relentlessly”

The “Sejil”, with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, about 20 meters long, weighing 23 tons and warheads weighing between 500 and 1,000 kilos, allows Quick releases from mobile platforms and was successfully tested in 2009.

This “strategic” projectile was used in the 54th wave along with ‘Khorramshahr’ (2-ton warheads), ‘Kheibar Shekan’, ‘Qadr’ and ‘Emad’ missiles against air management centers, military industries and concentrations of Israeli troops, the note stated.

The IRGC launched this Sunday, before the attack with the “Sejil” missile, another wave of bombings with ten ballistic missiles and drones against US command centers and Israeli targets in the Middle Eastincluding the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

It’s Sunday, at the IRGC threatened to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahuand stated that it will “pursue relentlessly” to achieve this, while Israel announced a new wave of bombings against targets in western Iran.

Just today, Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, stated that the offensive against Iran will last until the “existential threats” it presents are eliminated, during a visit he made to the Arab town of Zarzir, northern Israel, where last Friday an Iranian missile caused 58 minor injuries.

The Sejil missiles are a weapon developed entirely by Iran within its Aerospace Industries Organization. It can be maneuvered in and out of the atmosphere, making it more difficult to intercept.

According to international media, it can reach record speed so, once launched, it could carry out attacks on cities like Tel Aviv in just 7 minutes. Some speculation suggests that it could carry nuclear warheads.

The name is reminiscent of a chapter in the Quran, which speaks of “throwing stones from Sijjil”, in reference to the stones sent from heaven to punish the Army of Abraha the Abyssinian.

Iran warned other countries this Sunday that if they intervene there will be “an escalation” in the war in the Middle East, to which US President Donald Trump ruled out ending for the moment.

Iran assured that the war will not end until it has guarantees of its definitive end.

“This war will end when we are certain that it will not be repeated and that reparations will be paid,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi told the Arabic-language outlet Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

“We already experienced this last year: Israel attacked, then the United States (…) regrouped and attacked us again,” he added, referring to the brief war in June 2025 unleashed by attacks from Israel and the United States.

The minister also called on other countries to “refrain from any action that could lead to an escalation” and assured that he has “many evidence” that US bases in the Middle East were used to attack his country, citing the United Arab Emirates.

The Iranian-backed Lebanese group Hezbolah said its fighters launched an attack on an Israeli air base south of Tel Aviv on Sunday.

In a statement, the Shiite movement affirms that it attacked the Palmajim air base, about 140 kilometers from the border, with “a sophisticated missile”, after claiming responsibility for other actions in northern Israel and operations against Israeli troops in Lebanon.
