EU ministerial meetings will take place in Cyprus in the coming months

Despite the uncertainty caused by the war in the Middle East, the European Union’s ministerial meetings will take place in Cyprus in the coming months.

Cyprus, which currently holds the EU Council presidency, moved informal meetings scheduled for this month to an online format and postponed some following the attack on a British military base on the island in early March.

“Everything is completely back to normal. All events scheduled in Cyprus from April to June will be held according to the planned program,” said the Minister of Energy of Cyprus, Michalis Damianos.

According to the Cypriot authorities, on the night of March 2, the attack on the RAF Akrotiri base was carried out by an Iranian “Shahid” drone. It is believed to have been launched from Lebanon by the Iran-backed Hezbollah armed group.
