In February, Polish Professor Patricia Grzebik, the rapporteur for the “Moscow Mechanism”, visited Georgia and later submitted a report to the OSCE, recommending that the Georgian authorities act in accordance with democratic standards, cancel a number of adopted laws, including laws prohibiting “foreign agents” and LGBT community propaganda, and release all those who participated in the November-December 2024 protests in Tbilisi. to riots.

Kobakhidze refused to answer the question whether this report could be used in the Hague court to start a prosecution against the Georgian leadership.

“The topic is so absurd that I am not going to comment. We will not be intimidated either by the “Moscow Mechanism” or by the Hague Tribunal. We will act in accordance with our national interests,” the Prime Minister of Georgia emphasized.

24 OSCE member states, including the Baltic States, Moldova and Ukraine, signed the statement on launching the “Moscow mechanism” in relation to Georgia.

The “Moscow Mechanism” was established in the OSCE in 1991 in order to monitor the commitments undertaken by the member states in the field of human rights and democracy.
