The Iranian government accused Milei of having crossed a “red line” by saying that he was an “enemy” of Argentina.

Even during the military counterattack to the bombings by the United States and Israel, the Iranian government accused Javier Milei of “cross a red line” when ruling days ago that the Islamic Republic of Iran was enemy of Argentina.

He did so through a signed editorial, which appeared this Sunday night in the Tehran Times newspaper, the voice of the ayatollahs towards the diplomatic world.. And since on other occasions it has said that it is “aligned with the American-Zionist axis,” and that its policy does not respond to national interests but “to external pressures,” that the government participates in “an Iranophobia project.”

Signed by Saleh Abidi Maleki, who usually writes for the TT, and under the title “Milei, Quo Vadis?” (“Milei, what are you doing?“), the article has several paragraphs with official accusations towards the Argentine president and denials about Persian participation in the attack on the Jewish mutual fund in 1994 (85 deaths) and concludes in a tone of threat to the libertarian:

“Considering these facts, Iran cannot remain indifferent to the hostile positions of the current Argentine government. The Islamic Republic of Iran, while maintaining full vigilance against these plots, must devise a proportionate response to this enmity. The hand of Iran’s enemies is stained with the blood of innocent people of our country, including more than 160 students from the Minab school (recently destroyed by a US missile).. Now, Argentina has officially presented itself as an enemy of Iran and has aligned itself with the United States and the Zionist regime in military aggression against our nation. “This is an unforgivable red line that has been crossed.” The text was distributed to journalists by leaders close to the Iranian government, taking into account that the page has been down since the war began.

The Iranian response, which leaves the Argentine president at the center of the Middle East war, refers to Milei’s speech last Monday, March 9, when, at Yeshiva University in New York, where He declared himself an “enemy” of Iran and said he was “proud to be the most Zionist president in the world.”.

The point that irritated the Persians was this: “We are going to win. I don’t like Iran. They have placed two bombs on us, one in the AMIA and another in the Israeli Embassy. Therefore, let’s say, they are our enemies. But I also have a strategic alliance with the United States and Israel,” he expressed before the choir of students who sang “Milei, Milei!”. Precisely the Libertarian plans to participate this Tuesday in the act of tribute to the victims of the attack on the Israeli diplomatic headquarters in Buenos Aireswhich occurred on March 17, 1991.

During his recent trip to the United States, Milei was with Donald Trump and other allies of the Republican who make up the now called “Shield of the Americas” and participated in Manhattan in the so-called “Argentina Week”, organized together with JP Morgan.

In the article now published by the Tehran Times, the author raises the voice of the regime to accuse the Argentine government of becoming “an instrument in the hands of the Zionist regime and the United States to advance the Iranophobia project,” in the midst of what he called the current “illegal military aggression” on Iranian territory. And he says that this “Iranophobia project began 31 years ago,” pointing out as “false” the accusations of being behind the attack on the AMIA.

“Recently, in a speech at a US university (by Milei), he explicitly called Iran an “enemy” and declared that his country’s foreign policy is aligned with the aggressive strategies of the United States and the Israeli apartheid regime against Iran. This, while the Islamic Republic of Iran has never considered the people or the government of Argentina as its enemy, but it seems that Milei, with this approach and crossing the red line of Iran’s national security, seeks to sacrifice national interests and convenience at the altar of the United States and the Israeli apartheid regime,” they pointed out with a very strong accusation: that of “having turned Argentina into the Israel of Latin America; a place where pressure groups and elements close to the Zionist regime have a profound influence in the decision-making centers. This influence has transformed Argentina into a base to design and execute plots against Iran.”

According to the article, there are “Argentine companies linked to Zionist circles that “participate in operations against Iran,” “finance or support military aggression,” and “carry out espionage activities near Iranian borders.”

With a photo published by The New York Times of a hundred graves for the girls who perished in the bombing of the first hours on Iran, and in which the supreme leader of the Iranian theocracy, Ali Khamenei, was eliminated, the newspaper also pointed out in a warning tone about unproven Argentine participation.

“The most worrying point is the activity of some of these companies near the borders of Iran. These companies, under the cover of the export and import of goods and services, have prepared the ground for security and espionage activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Using a commercial façade, they are dedicated to monitoring and transferring information, forming a link in the chain of threats against Iran’s national security,” he indicated.

Argentina today does not have its historic embassy in Iran active, where it made its legal claims due to the judicial accusations surrounding the 1994 Amia attack. At least until a week ago, the staff served from neighboring countries, after former Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein decided to lower the blinds there when the first US attacks against the nuclear facilities occurred in June 2025.

The Iranian embassy in Argentina remains open, but there are libertarian sectors that want its staff to be kicked out of here, while others maintain that it would not be the most convenient thing to do.
