The mayor of Ancona: "Investments for 50 million and another 7 in 2028"

“How much will the investment be for this dossier? In terms of infrastructure we are talking about over 50 million euros, while for the year of the celebrations 7 are expected. We are interested in long-lasting investments, which give the city a perspective”. He declared it the mayor of Ancona, Daniele Silvetti, on the sidelines of the proclamation ceremony of Ancona as Italian Capital of Culture 2028 at the Ministry of Culture.

“Our function as a city in the Middle Adriatic puts us in a position to be the Italian Capital of Culture 2028, but to get there with the extensive planning we do internally to regenerate a city that has 2,400 years of historybut on the other hand also as the seat of the permanent secretariat of the Adriatic-Ionian initiative, therefore of an Adriatic-Ionian macro-region which also allows us to make our contribution not only in diplomatic terms, but also in cultural terms, bringing together the many cities that overlook the Adriatic and beyond. We represent not only the city, we represent the region. Behind us there was an entire territory and one of our great objectives is to lend a hand to the internal areas, to the small municipalities that are experiencing great difficulty”, added Silvetti.

The mayor then indicated among the strong points of the dossier the strategic dimension of the investments and the territorial role of the Marche capital: “We have strong points that we need to improve ourselves internally, the creation of the great museum of the civilization of the sea, a structure that was missing despite the city having a tradition and a great port”, he concluded.
