Thailand: A young Israeli was attacked in the heart of the famous street

Violent attack in Bangkok: Two Spanish tourists attacked tourists from Israel on the famous Kwasan Street in the capital of Thailand. The attack took place after one of the Spaniards shouted “I don’t like Israel” and started punching one of the Israeli tourists. The two contacted the Thai police and filed a complaint against the attackers.

Nadav, 19 years old from Be’er Sheva, flew about a month ago with his friend for a vacation in Thailand. After spending time in Koh Samui, Kopenhagen and Kotao, the two arrived about five days ago in Bangkok. “We were supposed to return to Israel and our flight was canceled, so we extended the trip here and in addition we received an invitation from an Indian who previously lived in Israel to come to India and stay for free until we can return to Israel,” says Nadav in a conversation with mako.

Yesterday, at the entrance of their hotel in Bangkok, Nadav and his friend encountered two tourists who asked them where they were from. “They were at the entrance to the reception, and told us they were from Spain. We told them we were from Israel, and they twisted their faces,” recalls Nadav. A few hours later, the two Israelis walked around the famous Kwasan street in the city, and ran into tourists they had met a few hours before at the hotel entrance. “They recognized us and approached us, one of them shouted at us ‘I don’t like Israel’, and just jumped on me with fists and elbows,” says Nadav. “I tried to protect myself as much as possible, my friend at that time asked for help from people and ran to call the police for assistance. We were both in the market in this situation, I did not expect or prepare for it, especially that it is in such a central place and after a perfect month that we had here.”

In a short time there was a commotion in the place and the two tourists escaped. Nadav and his friend approached the local police station in order to file a complaint against the two following the violent attack. “The police report also stated that I had a suspected concussion. The investigators said that the complaint was opened and they will try to locate them as soon as possible.”

Yesterday, a day after the incident, Nadav went to the police station again to find out if the two attackers had been arrested, and the investigators told him that they had not yet been able to locate them, and at the same time brought him the security camera footage from the incident. “I hope they are caught soon, because right now they are walking around freely and they deserve to be punished for what they did and also not to express such violent hatred again. I am really very, very surprised by the incident, we had the safest and most fun month here, for a moment I didn’t think it could happen. We came to have fun and represent our people with respect, we respected everyone and the Thais respected us in a lovely way everywhere. I never looked for any quarrel with anyone, of any kind. I am a human being It’s quiet, far from these things. We just came to enjoy ourselves and unfortunately I absorbed the hatred of these two tourists against our country.”
