Pashinyan and Kos discussed issues related to the liberalization of EU visas

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and EU Enlargement Commissioner Martha Kos discussed issues related to the EU visa liberalization process in Yerevan today, the government reports. It is not mentioned what was specifically discussed.

According to the government, they also talked about a number of other issues, such as the progress of the RA-EU cooperation agenda, the possibilities of expanding economic and investment programs.

Kos said that the EU highly appreciates the reforms implemented by Armenia and the political will shown in their direction. He emphasized that the EU will continue to support Armenia’s bilateral cooperation, in particular, the reform agenda, the Armenian political society and mass media.

Nikol Pashinyan and Commissioner Kos also referred to regional developments and steps towards establishing peace. Marta Kos stressed the EU’s full support for Yerevan’s peace efforts.

Earlier, Kos met with Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. After the meeting, he announced the provision of additional 140 million euros of support to Armenia.

The European Union Enlargement Commissioner is in Armenia in order to strengthen the European Union-Armenia partnership, Brussels reported before the visit.

The other day it became known that the European Union will send a mission of 9-14 experts at the beginning of April will send to Armeniato help authorities counter hybrid threats and foreign information manipulation.

The mission will spend 10-15 days in Armenia. The group will help the Prime Minister of Armenia’s staff and the Security Council office “develop a plan and regulations to manage these crises in situations of cyber-attacks and foreign information manipulation.” Beneficiaries of the aid will also be the Central Electoral Commission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and tax authorities.
