Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle ranked best European airport and 6th worldwide, Orly at the top of regional platforms in Europe

The largest French airport is also the best in Europe. The British firm Skytrax, which each year draws up the prestigious ranking of the best airports in the world, published the 2026 edition on Wednesday.

The ranking, based on passenger satisfaction, is, as every year, dominated by Asian airports, which occupy the first five places. Singapore Changi Airport, already a 13-time winner, once again takes first place this year. It is followed by the airports of Seoul-Incheon, Tokyo-Haneda, which also won the cleanliness prize, Hong Kong and Tokyo Narita rewarded for its staff.

But European airports are not left out since four of them appear in the top ten: Paris-CDG (6th), Rome Fiumicino (7th), Istanbul (8th – located in the European part of Turkey) and Munich (9th). The main Parisian airport dominates the European rankings for the fourth consecutive time, gaining one rank this year compared to 2025, indicates Skytrax. The company also rewards Paris-Orly as the best regional airport in Europe. It ranks 34th globally, dropping four places from last year.

American and African airports are barely present in the ranking. In the United States, Houston Airport fares a little better than the others, earning 29th place.

Customer satisfaction

To establish the ranking, the Skytrax survey is based on a global survey of customer satisfaction, from 100 nationalities. Participants are invited to give their opinions on various themes ranging from the services offered, to waiting times at immigration, including the courtesy of staff and baggage delivery times.

The survey was conducted online between August 2025 and February 2026 among customers at 575 airports around the world.
