Hans Dieter Pötsch should remain the top controller of the Volkswagen Group. The nomination committee of the VW supervisory board recommended the 74-year-old for re-election, the company announced. This proposal will be presented to the Supervisory Board at its next meeting, and the Annual General Meeting is scheduled to decide on it on June 18th.
According to the statement, Pötsch said: “I am happy to fulfill your wish to continue to lead the company through these challenging times at the head of the control and advisory committee.” His goal remains to make VW “weatherproof”. The “Handelsblatt” had previously reported on the personnel.
The Austrian Pötsch has worked for the VW Group since 2003, as CFO for twelve years and at the head of the Supervisory Board since autumn 2015.
