At the age of 86: US action star Chuck Norris dies

According to a report from celebrity website TMZ on Thursday, Norris was in an unspecified emergency Hospital in the US state of Hawaii been admitted. The martial artist had appeared in a number of action films since his acting debut in the late 1960s. His fight against kung fu superstar Bruce Lee in the 1972 film “The Deathclaw Strikes Again” made him a screen icon. His last appearance was in “Agent Recon” from 2024.

For his 86th birthday on March 10th, Norris posted a video in which he showed himself training in martial arts. White-haired, with a trimmed beard and alluding to the popular gags about him, Chuck Norris said there: “I don’t age, I move on.”

Known, among other things, for “Walker, Texas Ranger”

His biggest commercial success was “Missing in Action” (1984), which had two sequels. In the Rambo copy, Norris shoots and fights his way through the stripes as patriotic Vietnam veteran James Braddock. On television he was later again the powerful law enforcement officer for several years in the series “Walker, Texas Ranger” (1993-2001).

Norris was also private ore conservative and patriotic: He supported Donald Trump and promoted Glock pistols. As a follower of evangelical Christianity, he rejected the doctrine of evolution.

In his old age, Norris was also celebrated by young fans thanks to the Chuck Norris jokes circulating on the Internet. According to the so-called “Norris Facts,” the action star doesn’t need to fill up because the car drives out of respect for him. Or: He doesn’t read books – he stares at them until they tell him what’s in them.

When Chuck Norris appeared in front of the camera again in 2012 for the action film “The Expendables 2”, the Norris jokes also appeared: “I heard you were bitten by a cobra,” says Sylvester Stallone to Norris. “Yes,” Norris replies, “and after five days of extreme pain the cobra died.”
