Actor Barry Keoghan avoids public places due to internet hate for his appearance

Irish actor Barry Keoghan33, says in a recent interview that he avoids going outside because of internet hate.

Fresh from the US In an interview with the SiriusXM radio channel The Oscar nominee says that he still receives nasty messages about his appearance, for example, when he has appeared in public.

“It’s kind of past the ‘everybody goes through that’ point. It’s made me wary. It’s really made me turn inward, avoid going places and going out. And I’ll say this in all honesty – it’s becoming a problem,” says Keoghan.

“Then you don’t even want to be on the big screen anymore,” he continues.

Keoghan emphasizes that he also has a lot of wonderful fans despite the unpleasant side of the public. However, the actor says that he is sad that as his 3-year-old son grows up, he also has to read nasty comments about his father.

Already in 2024, the actor said that he deleted his social media account because he received so many hate messages on them. At the time, Keoghan was a divorced American singer Sabrina Carpenter.

“I can only take a certain amount. My name has been thrown around the internet in ways I don’t usually react to. Now I have to respond because this has gotten out of hand and too many lines have been crossed. I disabled my account because I can’t let these things interfere with my family and work anymore,” Keoghan wrote on the X messaging service at the time.

Keoghan received an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor in 2023 for his role in the film The Banshees of Inisherin. He was awarded the Bafta Award for Best Supporting Actor for the same film.
