Iran launches missiles at Israel with portrait of Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez

Iranian media publish photographs of missiles intended to strike Israel, on which one can see inscriptions with gratitude to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, an opponent of the war with Iran and an enemy of the Jewish state.

In addition to the photograph of the European politician, the missiles bear an inscription in Farsi and English, but for some reason not in Spanish: “Of course, this war is not only illegal, it is inhumane. Thank you, Mr Prime Minister.”

Spain is one of the most hostile European states to Israel. The government accuses the Jewish state of “genocide” of the inhabitants of Gaza, and calls the US-Israeli strike on Iran aggression. In connection with the latter, US President Donald Trump threatened Madrid with a severance of economic relations.

Two weeks ago, the Spanish government decided to recall the ambassador from Israel and lower the level of relations. The diplomatic mission will be headed by the charge d’affaires.
