Iran has threatened to completely mine the Persian Gulf

The Iranian Defense Council has threatened to mine the Persian Gulf if the Iranian coast or islands come under attack. The regime reminds that only countries that are not hostile to Iran can use the Strait of Hormuz, and only with the permission of Tehran.

“Any attempts by the enemy to attack our coast or islands will entail the mining of routes and communications in the Persian Gulf. In fact, the entire Persian Gulf will be mined, and responsibility for this will fall on those who created the threat,” the statement says.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament, Muhammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that in the event of an attack on Iranian energy facilities, Iran would consider the region’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and desalination plants, as a legitimate target, and would cause irreversible damage to them.

On March 22, The Jerusalem Post reported, citing informed sources, that in recent days the United States notified Israel and other countries of its intention to launch an amphibious operation to capture the Iranian island of Kharg, where key energy infrastructure is located.
