Telia lays off 168 employees

Telecom operator Telia’s change negotiations have ended. As a net effect of the negotiations, 168 positions will end in Telia’s Finnish operations, the company says in its press release.

The negotiations that started in January lead to the end of 251 positions and the opening of 83 new positions. In total, around 2,000 tasks were covered by the negotiations.

Telia says it is simplifying the organization to implement the growth strategy in Finland. The company’s goal is to invest in customer experience and store network, as well as mobile network development, quality and information security solutions.

Telia increase investments also in the area of ​​security and defense, for example for the development of dual-use technology to support critical national operations.

The changes discussed in the negotiations will enter into force in March.

Telia has approximately 3,000 employees in Finland. In addition to Finland, Telia operates in other Nordic and Baltic countries. The group’s turnover last year was 7.3 billion euros.
