Russian expert: the Iranian cruise missile “Khoveiza” – is based on a Ukrainian missile

Iran has yet to use some of its long-range weapons in current combat operations. Among these systems is the Hobeiza land-based cruise missile, whose range exceeds 1,350 kilometers, and which apparently has not yet entered combat service. This is according to a publication on the “RT Arabic” media website.

He also noted that initial attempts to develop a local version were completely unsuccessful, as the range of the initial version did not exceed 700 kilometers. However, the introduction of a more advanced engine increased the range to over 1,350 kilometers, putting targets in Israel and most of Saudi Arabia within its range. The missile is launched from ground platforms.

He added that later an improved version was revealed, called “Abu Mahdi”, characterized by its ability to hit targets at a range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. This version was developed specifically for naval forces, where it can be used to hit various types of vessels, in addition to fixed land targets.

The missile uses an active-passive radar guidance system, with the ability to update target data in flight through its integrated navigation system, thus improving its accuracy and ability to hit targets.
