France beats Brazil in a friendly with a World Cup flavor

The French team beat Brazil (1-2) this Thursday in a friendly match held at the Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, United States), better and more effective, with goals from Kylian Mbappé and Hugo Ekitike, despite playing with one less for more than half an hour due to the direct red card to Dayot Upamecano.

Didier Deschamps’ men beat the five-time world champion, a team led by Carlo Ancelotti that was fragile in defense and did not use its potential in attack in a duel of contenders for next summer’s World Cup in North America. The former Real Madrid coach was reunited with Mbappé and the French striker showed that he was recovered from his knee injury and was hungry.

The Madrid forward, the protagonist in the preview with everything related to his loss and the management of his problem by the club’s doctors, did not fail in the one-on-one that Ousmane Dembélé gave him, chipping the ball over Ederson at half an hour. France was lethal in the recovery and quick transition, while Brazil seemed not to see them coming, even at 0-2.

Furthermore, Ancelotti’s men went to the locker room without shooting on goal and after the restart, the coach left FC Barcelona player Raphinha on the bench with possible muscle discomfort. All in all, Luiz Henrique improved the Brazilian approach and the game seemed to change a little more with the red card for Upamecano, reviewed in the VAR, as the last defender in a foul on Wesley Moraes.

However, in another great start at speed, against a poor Brazilian retreat, Deschamps’ men struck again, this time with the subtle and sharp touch of Ekitike. With 0-2 and 25 minutes left, Brazil was forced to go into attack, until Bremer made it 1-2 in the 78th minute. Ancelotti’s men were around the second, although they did not find Vinícius, and France also knew how to have the ball in the last minutes to suffer less.
