Body is committed to strengthening relations with the US in its first meeting with the new ambassador in Spain

The first vice president of the Government and Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Body, held his first meeting with the United States ambassador to Spain and Andorra, Benjamín León, in which he expressed his intention to strengthen relations between both countries.

“We will work together to protect and promote the transatlantic link: a strategic asset that generates prosperity for workers and companies on both sides of the Atlantic,” said the first vice president.

Body has assured that it is a “pleasure” to receive the ambassador who assumed his position as representative in Spain on February 16 after the approval of his appointment by the US Upper House last December.

The meeting was the first official act as first vice president of the Government of Carlos Corpus after having promised this Friday his position before the King and receiving the portfolio from María Jesús Montero after the departure of the already former minister of the Executive to present himself as a candidate in the Andalusian elections.
