Trump: Iran is ‘the only country where no one wants to lead’, ‘their leaders are dead’

US President Donald Trump, speaking at an investment conference in Miami Beach (Florida) on March 27, said that negotiations with Iran were continuing and that Tehran should open the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump noted that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is dead, adding that Khamenei’s son Mojtaba “is either dead or in very serious condition” because “nothing has been heard from him.”

According to Trump, the Iranian leadership has effectively ceased to exist. “Their leaders are dead. Their supreme leader is no longer supreme – he is dead,” the US President said, noting that Iran is “the only country where no one wants to lead.”

In the same speech, as noted by Ynet, Trump said that the United States “saved not only Israel, but also the Middle East,” and is now negotiating with Iran. At the same time, he again demanded to open the Strait of Hormuz and argued that Tehran was “receiving such blows that anyone would negotiate” and that the Iranian side was “begging for a deal.”
