US Vice President J.D. Vance: Arguably. that the goals of the war have already been achieved

US Vice President J.D. Vance, on the Benny Show podcast, answering a question about rising gasoline prices due to the war with Iran, said that the United States “has accomplished the vast majority of its military objectives” and one can even argue that the goals have already been achieved.

“The President is going to fight for a while longer to make sure that once we’re done, we don’t have to go back to this for a very, very long time,” Vance said. It was a rare acknowledgment that U.S. military gains may not be permanent.

“This country threatens us in every possible way. They are still trying to develop nuclear weapons. We need to neutralize their capabilities for a very long time, and that is the goal,” he added.
