Samsung launches the Hearapy application to avoid motion sickness during trips thanks to a specific frequency

Samsung has announced the launch of the application Hearapy to avoid dizziness during trips across the reproduction of specific audio frequencies that help relieve nausea or vertigo.

According to the company, “almost a third of the world’s population suffers from motion sickness: they experience vertigo, nausea and sweating during travel,” and to improve the user experience, it has launched the application Hearapy.

Its development has been supported by research from the University of Nagoya in Japan, in which it was analyzed which tones stimulated the vestibular system most effectively. The result of the study revealed that a 100 Hz tone at a volume of 80 to 85 dB for 60 seconds can improve balance.

The technology company presented Hearapy focused on its most recent high-end headphones, Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Prowhich are characterized by incorporating a wider woofer along with a active noise cancellation (ANC) and a adaptive equalizer (EQ) next generation advanced.

In this way, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro offer clear and powerful sound at 100 Hz thanks to its optimized oscillating surface and a border speaker minimized. Furthermore, his integrated timer guarantees a precise duration of 60 seconds, while the volume adjustment sets it to 85 dB.

Exposure to this low tone, without music or other noises that interfere with it, in both ears prevents dizziness, and its effect can be maintained for two hours, as the company has stated on its website.

However, the specialized portal 9to5Google has tested the Hearapy application, available in the Google Play Store for free, on Jabra Elite Gen 2 headphones, which reach frequencies of up to 20 Hz.

During the test, described as “disconcerting”, a low and powerful tone was heard for a few seconds until a humming sound appeared. Although the result could not be verified, the test served to demonstrate that The app can be used with devices that are not in the Samsung ecosystem.
