Fire safety company Firebig says that he bought two companies in the fire protection industry. During February–March, Firebig bought the one operating in Turku Saumalaakso Oy Western Finland and the one operating in Uusimaa Fire break special.

The Firebig group was formed in January 2025 by the merger of eight fire safety companies.

After the transactions, Firebig will employ a total of approximately 120 people. According to the company’s press release, it owns about a quarter of the total turnover of 80 million euros in the fire protection industry in Finland.

Saumalaakso Oy Länsisuomi was bought from the Saumalaaakso Group operating in Turku, Tampere and the capital region. Fire break special owners Mikko Asikainen and Sami Salenius become shareholders of Firebig as a result of the acquisition.

Firebig does not disclose transaction prices.

At the same time, a sales advisor has been appointed to the company’s board as of March 23 Antti Rantalainen. Among other things, Rantalainen has built a private accounting firm Rantalainen Group’swhich was sold to a private equity investor in 2018.

Rantalainen estimates in Firebig’s press release that 3–4 new companies can be integrated into the company annually.

“During my career, I have completed hundreds of acquisitions. 150 of my own, and assisted my clients in approximately 200 acquisitions. When the goal is to grow quickly through acquisitions, obtaining financing is not an obstacle, because Firebig is in good shape,” says Rantalainen.
