Janez Slivnik is the new head coach of men’s alpine skiing

Slovenian Janez Slivnik53, is the new head coach of men’s alpine skiing. He has signed a two-year contract with an option for two additional years.

Slivnik is responsible for the technical team’s success in the World Cup and coordinates and assists the activities of other men’s national teams.

“Former head coach Mario Rafetzeder did a very good job for us for four years, for which we thank him very much. However, when starting the new Olympics, we were looking for a change and a coach with experience at the top. As well as a person who knows how to build a culture that works for the team and a combination of professional work and relaxation”, CEO of Ski Sport Finland Janne Leskinen says in the announcement.

According to Leskinen, negotiations with Slivnik started right after the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February.

Drainage pipe is an old familiar coach to Finns. He coached the women of the Finnish national team in 2006–10 and the men in 2010–14.

He will start a new job in May.

“Working with Finns is straightforward and clear. I know that because I was involved in Finnish alpine skiing between 2006 and 2014. The organization works without unnecessary bureaucracy. by Eduard Hallberg in addition, the team has very potential athletes who have opportunities all the way to the top. It was easy to respond affirmatively to Finland’s invitation when it came,” says the coach.

Slivnik coached the Austrian national team last season. He was in charge of men’s speed sports.
