NETA management will receive 4.5 million shekels if the company meets its goals for promoting the metro

NETA’s top managers will receive a cumulative bonus of up to NIS 4.5 million, subject to meeting the calendar deadlines and benchmarks of the metro project.

The bonus is intended for the general director of the company, his deputy, vice presidents and heads of departments. The maximum bonus amount will be 150 thousand shekels.

Only an employee who has worked for the company for at least six months at the time the payment is approved and has signed a commitment to remain with the company for at least a year from the date of receipt is eligible for a bonus.

To receive the bonus, the company must achieve goals for promoting the metro construction project, stated for the period between October 2025 and September 2026.

An executive remuneration system linked to performance and targets is standard practice for public companies like NETA. At one time, a similar mechanism was approved in relation to the construction of the “red line” of the high-speed tram, but then the company did not fulfill its goals, and the managers did not receive a bonus.

The metro project is the largest in the history of the state: it provides for the construction of 150 km of underground tunnels within the boundaries of 24 municipalities. The estimated commissioning date of the project is 2040.

Bonuses are intended to serve as a tool for attracting and retaining top managers in the interests of promoting the metro project. The initiative stems from the difficulty of attracting qualified executive-level managers compared to the private sector.
