DLSS 4.5 and Multi Frame Generation 6X, new NVIDIA 2026

The integration of artificial intelligence in the gaming sector has reached a new stage of maturation with the introduction of increasingly sophisticated predictive models. The latest update to the DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) suite, version 4.5, marks the transition to a second-generation Transformer model. This technology is no longer limited to simple pixel reconstruction, but manages complex data streams to generate additional frames with higher fidelity. The main innovation lies in the dynamic management of frame generation, a function that operates in a similar way to an “automatic transmission for the GPU”, adjusting the workload in real time to maintain the ideal balance between fluidity and latency.

For configurations based on GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, the most significant new feature is support for Multi Frame Generation 6X. This mode allows you to generate up to five additional frames for each natively rendered frame. In titles that use path tracing, this evolution allows frame rate increases of up to 35% in 4K resolution.

The integration with Reflex technology is fundamental, which mitigates the increase in latency typically associated with the generation of synthetic frames. As stated in the release notes, the technology “dynamically adjusts the number of frames generated to find the best balance between performance, image quality and responsiveness“.

Another important technical aspect concerns the new user interface management model (HUD), also available for 40 series cards. By leveraging additional data from the game engine, the system is now able to isolate and sharpen critical elements such as minimaps and on-screen indicators, avoiding the visual distortions that sometimes plagued previous versions.

This precision is particularly visible on high refresh rate 4K OLED monitors and systems equipped with G-SYNC Pulsar. Titles like ARC Raiders e Marvel Rivals have already started integrating these tools, with the latter capable of increasing fluidity up to 5 times.
