Chrome for desktop fixes 21 vulnerabilities, one of them zero-day and high severity

The desktop version of Chrome for Windows and Mac already has an emergency update available that comes with version 146.0.7680.177/178, and has also been released for Linux with version 146.0.7680.177 of the browser.

This update patches 21 vulnerabilities identified in the browser, 19 of high severity and two of medium severity, which were reported throughout the month of March, as stated in a statement shared by Google.

Although a list of all the vulnerabilities is included, Google has highlighted the one listed as CVE-2026-5281, zero-day, because it was aware that cybercriminals were exploiting it in their attacks.

CVE-2026-5281, of high severity, was reported to the technology company on March 10 and affects Dawn, an implementation of the open source and cross-platform WebGPU standard used in Chromium.
