The company has explained that these new models integrate advanced optical technology that supports almost all prescriptions. “Our new Ray-Ban Meta glasses are designed to better meet the needs of those who wear prescription glasses all day,” he noted.

The Blayzer model has a rectangular design, available in standard and large sizes, while the Scriber has a more rounded frame. “They are the most comfortable glasses we have ever designed,” Meta highlighted in a statement on its website.

Both glasses, belonging to the second generation, have overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads and adjustable temple tips, so that they adapt to the shape of the face for a perfect fit.

The new models are now available for pre-sale in the United States with a price starting at $499 (approximately 432 euros). Meta has indicated that they will be available in selected international markets starting next April 14.

New designs and combinations

The company has also introduced new colors and combinations for the Ray-Ban Meta frames, with the ‘Shiny Transparent Peach’ color, brown lenses for the Skyler model and gray lenses for the Headliner, and the ‘Shiny Transparent Grey’ color with sapphire lenses for the Wayfarer model.

It has also announced new features for Oakley Meta frames, including ‘Prizm Dark Golf’ lenses and, for the first time, compatibility with ‘Prizm Transitions’ lenses for Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses.

AI Updates and Features

Finally, Meta has announced advanced software updates and new AI features. For example, nutrition tracking can now be recorded in the Meta AI app via hands-free. In this way, users can also ask the glasses questions such as “what should I eat to increase my energy” and the device will make a suggestion based on the record.

This new feature will be available soon to users over 18 years of age in the United States for Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, and later this summer for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.

Furthermore, hands-free WhatsApp message summaries and retrieval have been incorporated into the Early Access Program (EAP) for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta and Meta Ray-Ban Display users. Thus, users will be able to ask the glasses to update them on their messages or to summarize the conversation in a group chat, for example.

Finally, Meta will also extend neural writing to Meta Ray-Ban glasses in the coming weeks and has announced that it will be coming to iMessage. This function allows you to write a message discreetly by moving your fingers on any surface and is compatible with Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and iOS and Android messaging applications.
