The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a strike on the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the frigate Admiral Makarov.

The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Robert Brovdi, said that on the night of April 6, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the frigate Admiral Makarov, was attacked in the port of Novorossiysk.

The military leader emphasized that the frigate is equipped with Caliber missiles, as well as the Shtil-1 anti-aircraft missile system. According to him, the extent of damage caused to the frigate has yet to be assessed. The Sivash floating drilling rig was also hit.

Earlier, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, announced a night attack on Novorossiysk. He did not mention attacks on the port or the rig. According to him, drone debris was found on the territory of several enterprises.

Admiral Makarov is named after the Russian naval commander who died aboard the battleship Petropavlovsk during the Russo-Japanese War. Let us note that in 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces sank the previous flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva.
