The doctor assessed that the patient’s thighs and hips appeared to have many abscesses, widespread red inflammation, pus flowing continuously and the beginning of septicemia – the most dangerous complication when bacteria enter the bloodstream.

To save the patient, the medical team used the strongest broad-spectrum antibiotic regimen, and performed 5 surgeries to dredge, place drains, and remove as much filler as possible. After more than three weeks of intensive treatment, the woman’s whole body health gradually improved, the wound was clean of fluid, but doctors still had to closely monitor it to avoid recurrence.

According to Dr. Hai, facilities often inject heterogeneous, long-lasting fillers such as “artificial fat” that make the dredging process difficult. Doctors recommend that people only use fillers in small areas such as the nose, chin, cheeks, and lips. With large areas such as the chest or buttocks, filler injections have a very high risk of complications.
