In the heart of New York: Comedian Judy Gold experienced anti-Semitism in two performances

The first incident happened last Friday, during Gold’s performance at the “New York Comedy Club” located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. One of the spectators in the crowd began to riot systematically, and at one point shouted at her “you Jew” as a derogatory term for anything and everything. Gold, who has been performing on the stand-up stage for over 40 years and is known, among other things, for the series “Meshelat Maschak” and “Good Things”, testified that although she has encountered countless disturbing viewers in her life – she has never experienced an event of this type.

“This guy was very disruptive, and I told him, ‘You’re annoying for a female comedian,'” Gold said. “I only talked to him because the crowd was great and he just kept shouting things. I’ve been doing it since I was 19, I can handle anything,” she explained, but admitted that she was left speechless in the face of the direct hate speech.

According to an official at the club who spoke to “Page Six”, the riot did not end with this statement. The same spectator refused to leave the place quietly, confronted the club’s security man and even tried to drag him into a fight in the street. In the end, the venue staff made him pay the bill and kicked him out, a move Gold expressed great appreciation for.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of the Emmy Award-winning comedian’s anti-Semitic incidents for this weekend. The next night, Gold experienced another outrageous incident at another club in Manhattan, the name of which she preferred to keep to herself. “Some guy made a comment about Jews being stingy,” Gold repeated, “so I answered him: ‘Thank you for bringing back this motif from 1600.'” Unlike the club from the previous evening, in this case the spectator was not removed from the place and was allowed to remain in the audience.
