Iran denounces the violation of three points of the framework agreement: “A ceasefire or negotiation is unviable”

The speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, denounced this Wednesday that three points of the framework agreement to end the war have been violated by the United States before the start of talks between Washington and Tehran in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. “In such circumstances, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiation is unfeasible,” he said.

“The deep historical distrust that we feel towards the United States is due to its repeated violations of all types of commitments, a pattern that has unfortunately been repeated once again,” he expressed in a statement posted on social networks.

Qalibaf has referred to the failure to comply with the first clause of the 10-point framework agreement, which refers to an “immediate ceasefire everywhere, including in Lebanon and other regions, with immediate effect”, after the wave of Israeli attacks registered during the day in Lebanese territory.

Likewise, he has also pointed to the violation of Iranian airspace after an “intruder” drone was shot down by Iranian forces in Fars province, while he has also assured that the United States has violated the clause relating to Iran’s right to uranium enrichment, which is the sixth point of the framework agreement.

Washington and Tehran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire, conditional on the reopening of the Hormuz Pass and which paves the way for negotiations in Pakistan for a broader agreement to end the war launched on February 28 by the United States and Israel. The international community has applauded the step, calling for its “full implementation” and reiterating the path of dialogue to restore peace in the region.
