Defeats of Leal, Abián and Azurmendi on the third day of the European badminton tournament in Huelva

During the afternoon shift, Pablo Abián made his debut on Court 1 against Rasmus Gemke, third seed in this European Championship. In a demanding duel also in the round of 32, the Dane dominated from the start, winning 10-21 and 9-21 despite his opponent’s efforts.

The last Spanish presence was Clara Azurmendi in the round of 32. He had a solid first set against Özge Bayrak, decided by details with a short 18-21, and reacted to take the second (21-17); and in the third, in whose high-tension outcome the San Sebastian player came to be ahead, the Turkish player finally ended up smiling 19-21.
