From Friday morning, you can see a comet in the sky

Finland in the sky you can see a comet that has been traveling towards the Sun for thousands of years, says the astronomical association Ursa in its announcement.

According to Ursa, comet C/2025 R3 or Panstarrs was already visible from the sky on Thursday morning with binoculars or a camera.

However, in the coming days, the comet is expected to brighten so that it can be seen with the naked eye, albeit dimly. However, it is difficult to predict the brightness of comets, Ursa reminds.

The best time to see the comet is between the 10th and 20th. April, i.e. from Friday onwards. It’s worth looking at the sky after half past four in the morning, when the comet is higher in the sky.

Although the comet may stand out with the naked eye, binoculars can help you find it considerably, Ursa reminds.

In the morning sky the comet stays between east and northeast.

As the month progresses, the comet gets closer to the rising Sun day by day. In this case, the brightness of the comet’s background sky also increases, which makes it difficult to detect.

The comet will probably disappear into the brightness of the Sun after April 20.

Particular the comet originates from the Oort cloud, which surrounds the solar system on all sides.

Its journey towards the Sun has taken about 170,000 years. According to calculations, the comet would leave the solar system after it has circled around the Sun. However, it is possible that the comet will not survive the passage of the Sun intact, but will disintegrate.

The comet was first observed in Hawaii in September 2025.
