Diesel at 9.99 euros per liter! A Total station in the North of France will reimburse its customers after an error

The price of fuel has increased faster than elsewhere at a northern gas station. For almost 16 hours a liter of diesel was 9.99 euros at the Total station in Onnaing, near Valenciennes, reports La Voix du Nord. Many motorists believed it was a simple totem display bug but were surprised to see their bill skyrocket after refueling.

Contacted by the northern daily, Total indicated that the incident was closed. “Our teams carried out a comprehensive analysis and identified all of the transactions concerned. », Explained the brand. The few dozen motorists identified will be reimbursed very soon.

Diesel capped at Total at 2.25 euros

The brand specifies that reimbursement will be automatic and calculated on the basis of the capped prices that it has put in place. On Tuesday, the energy giant extended until the end of the month the cap on its prices at 1.99 euros per liter for gasoline and 2.25 euros per liter for diesel, due to the rise in gasoline prices following the war in the Middle East.

According to testimonies collected by La Voix du Nord, motorists have paid particularly high amounts without realizing it.
