Samsung cooperated with the National Innovation Center NIC to organize the Solve for Tomorrow 2026 program to promote STEM education in Vietnam.
At the launching ceremony on the morning of April 11 in Hanoi, Mr. Na Ki Hong, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, assessed that technology is opening up “unprecedented” opportunities and that the future will be led by people who understand technology, contributing to society and the community through technology.
Referring to the process of organizing Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) over the years in Vietnam, Mr. Na Ki Hong said that the program has encouraged the development of practical solutions to solve social and community problems, while promoting STEM education. From here, students’ creative ideas can be realized, forming technology projects and contributing to society.
“I believe the breakthrough in knowledge and innovation capacity of students today will be the launching pad for Vietnam’s take-off future,” said Mr. Na Ki Hong.

STEM is an educational method that integrates four fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Instead of learning individual theories, STEM focuses on applying knowledge into practice, training creative thinking, problem solving skills and teamwork.
Solve for Tomorrow has been held in Vietnam since 2019, with the goal of promoting the application of STEM education in research and building solutions to solve practical social and local problems. This year’s competition focuses on the topics of sustainable environmental development through technology; combining sports and technology to change society, towards education and future development; Applying technology to develop sustainable society.
This is also the first year Samsung cooperates with the National Innovation Center (NIC), which is expected to spread the STEM movement to thousands of schools across the country, contributing to realizing Vietnam’s major policy on developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
“The fact that two leading units in promoting STEM activities in Vietnam are collaborating to implement the program from 2026 marks an important step forward, demonstrating the companionship between the public and private sectors in developing STEM education in Vietnam,” said Deputy Minister of Finance Le Tan Can.
According to Mr. Can, the Ministry of Finance considers Samsung not only a leading investor in the field of high technology, but also a pioneer enterprise in accompanying Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources. He suggested that NIC continue to consider STEM education and young human resource development as one of the key tasks, always accompanying educational institutions, international organizations and domestic and foreign businesses, expanding the scale and improving the quality of training, creativity and entrepreneurship activities among young people.

The Solve for Tomorrow contest was initiated by Samsung in 2010 in the US. In Vietnam in 2025, the contest attracted nearly 7,000 students, more than 2,500 teachers participated and 2,625 ideas were submitted. This year, the program is implemented from April to October nationwide, with two exam tables, including table A for middle school students and table B for high school students.
In addition to ideas, the program also sets requirements and a roadmap for turning initiatives into solutions that can be applied in practice locally, thereby contributing to solving specific challenges facing the community. The school with the first prize winning team in each group will be sponsored by Samsung with a functional STEM Lab classroom worth 60,000 USD per school.
