GG Power introduces an energy storage battery factory

The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) complex is located in industrial park No. 5, Xuan Truc, marking a milestone in clean energy development for GG Power.

The complex has a total area of 1.2 hectares, including a two-story factory and R&D center, with a design capacity of 5GWh per year. GG Power representative said the investment in the BESS factory is methodical and professional according to international standards. The level of automation is over 90% allowing quality control at every stage of production. With the above process, each product shipped must meet safety, performance and reliability standards, ready to serve the domestic and regional markets at speed and large scale.

According to orientation, BESS focuses on providing comprehensive energy storage systems for all market segments including: residential product lines aimed at households; industrial scale solutions (C&I); Utility-scale project chain.

The BESS technology platform is transferred from Goldwind Group – the world’s leading provider of clean energy, storage, and wind power solutions, currently present in more than 30 countries with a series of large-scale projects in the US, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Specifically, GG Power receives technology transfer under the licensing model to completely master the research and development (R&D) process. Goldwind also commits to long-term technical support, training a team of specialized engineers and continuously updating and improving operation and maintenance technology.

On that foundation, the unit continues to coordinate with partners to successfully develop and optimize the energy operating system (EMS) – the “brain” of BESS. According to the business representative, EMS has high compatibility with the characteristics of Vietnam’s power grid, ensuring complete initiative in operation, while building a large data platform that is secured and stored domestically.

“Through strategic cooperation with Goldwind, we directly access global technology standards, gradually improve R&D capacity, master the system and proactively develop the domestic supply chain. This is the foundation for GG Power to participate more deeply in the regional and international energy value chain,” the representative analyzed.

Within the framework of the event, business leaders performed a strategic cooperation signing ceremony with supporting technology partners, international customers, and distributors to develop a network spanning across the country, to realize the commitment to maintain consistency in technical standards from the stage of leaving the factory to the hands of consumers.

The factory in Hung Yen was established to catch the booming wave of the global BESS market, with an expected compound growth rate of 28.3% by 2030, according to Grandview Researchas energy storage becomes a mandatory component of the modern power grid. In Vietnam, facing the problem of power grid variability and overload, most of the market still depends on imported equipment.

The orientations in Directive No. 10/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and Power Planning VIII set out an urgent roadmap for developing distributed energy sources and installing BESS systems to reduce peak load pressure. GG Power representatives expect their localization efforts to contribute to the transition from a consuming country to technology mastery, ensuring energy security, and bringing Vietnam deeper participation in the global green value chain. According to the adjusted Power Plan VIII, our country is expected to need about 10-16 GW of BESS in the coming period.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Xuan Binh, Chairman and General Director of GG Power emphasized: “GG Power does not aim to only produce equipment but aims to master core technology – from control systems to comprehensive solution integration. We invest heavily in R&D, develop internal standards, build factories and link up with international cooperation. This path is not easy, requires time, resources and perseverance, but is a necessary direction to form the industry. new national energy. With BESS, our country has the opportunity to become the energy storage center of Asia in the future.”

In the next phase, the business plans to expand additional supporting factories to improve production capacity and complete the supply chain.
