Trump says he has begun the process of clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz

The American president, who in recent weeks has criticized his allies for refusing to militarily reopen the sea lane blocked by Tehran, declared that these countries “have neither the courage nor the will to do this work themselves”. Furthermore, he attacked the media because, as he said, “they love to say that Iran is winning when, in reality, the whole world knows that they are losing, and losing a lot (…) Their Navy has disappeared, their Air Force has disappeared, their anti-aircraft system is non-existent, their radars are dead, their missile and drone factories have been practically annihilated along with the missiles and drones themselves and, most importantly, their long-time ‘leaders’ are no longer with us, praise be to Allah!”

In another message published this Saturday, the American president assured that he is closely monitoring fertilizer prices, affected by the war, and that he “will not tolerate speculation” that harms American farmers. Likewise, he stated that a large number of oil tankers from around the world are heading to the United States to “carry the best and most precious oil”, in reference to the American product, due to the war in Iran.

Negotiations between the United States and Iran began this Saturday in Islamabad, with the participation of American Vice President, JD Vance, a day after Trump warned that he would open the Strait of Hormuz by force if the talks failed. Since the announcement of the temporary ceasefire between both countries, some ships have transited the Strait of Hormuz, although tensions maintain uncertainty about the solidity of the truce.
